My first bouquets consisted of grass clover flowers for my mom. At 10 years old I wrote a poem that basically amounts to, “flowers are so pretty, and they make everyone happy.” Ella Fitzgerald songs and armfuls of fresh-cut flowers involuntarily cause me to viscerally relax.

One of my favorite moments in this profession is when the reception space is just finished. Everything has come together and the result is transcendent. I look up and can imagine it as it will be later - full of people celebrating in harmony and love.
